Easter 2008 in Svankjær



Hurricanes in Svankjær

At the end of january and the beginning of february 2008 Svankjær had to deal with the consequences of strong hurricanes. You can see it best when you have a look at the pictures from Lyngby, the small village next to Svankær. The old fisherhouse, which had been used for meetings, was completely destroyed. Approximately 15 to 20 meters of the costline dissapeared in the seas. But have a look yourself.




November 2007: Christmas Market

On November the 18th, we had our famous christmas market again. Besides our christmas exhibition with german, local danish and american designs folks could create their own decoration or buy christmas trees. Also other local artist showed and sold their works.




August 2007: Captain Jack Sparrow visits Sawmill

The for sure most famous pirate of the Caribbean visited Denmarks smallest sawmill when he was on a land vacation. Have a look:



February 2007: Snowstorm at the sawmill

Winter finally arrived. Late but not less heavy. The sawmill was almost separated from the rest of the world.




November 2006: Christmas Market

On November the 19th we invited everyone to our Christmas market.

Folks could come and create their own christmas decoration! Besides the little market stands with gift ideas and christmas arts you could also choose and buy your christmastree.





Autumn 2006: Dinos in the sawmill

A many thousand year old Mammuth has been seen in the little sawmill!



Summer 2005: H.C. Andersen in the sawmill

During summer 2005 there was an exhibition of scissorshapes after H.C. Andersen, cut out of plywood.
