In Autumn 2007 the danish government announced that Thy is going to be Denmarks first Nationalpark. The Nationalpark's area will be the coastline beginning at Agger Tange until Hanstholm and includes the lakes Fladesø and Ørumsø.
We have opened an information point on our farm, where you can get all sorts of information about Thy, the Nationalpark, activities and events, as well as flyers and brochures. |

At the end of january and the beginning of february Svankjær had to deal with the consequences of strong hurricanes. You can see it best when you have a look at the pictures from Lyngby, the small village next to Svankær. The old fisherhouse, which had been used for meetings, was completely destroyed. Approximately 15 to 20 meters of the costline dissapeared in the seas. But have a look yourself.
